„Batut“ increased the SCALE of RISK from coronavirus to moderate
The risk of arrival of an infection caused by the coronavirus in Serbia is increasing and can be considered as moderate, the Institute of Public Health „Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut“ announced. They added that since February 24th adjusted algorithms for the course of action have been applied, in line with development of the epidemiological situation worldwide, particularly in Italy, as well as based on so far gained knowledge on characteristics of the infection and causes. The director of the World Health Organization for Europe, Hans Kluge, says that Serbia is ready to face the possible spread of coronavirus, the Serbian government announced. During his talks with Serbian officials in Belgrade, Kluge said that cooperation with the Serbian Ministry of Health is excellent. It was asserted during talks that preventive measures should be taken in the event of an outbreak of the coronavirus, and fake news that would increase fear among the population should be suppressed. According to RTS insights, two patients are admitted to the Infectious Diseases Ward of the Sabac Hospital, suspected of having the coronavirus. One patient was in Thailand and other returned from Milan with flu-like symptoms, but presence of the virus was not confirmed for these two patients.
