    THEY DEMAND NEW CRISIS STAFF: Protests in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis… (VIDEO)

    A protest took place in Belgrade due to the announced curfew during the upcoming weekend, and the protesters demanded the appointment of a new Crisis Staff and they called for holding the commanders of the police to account after the protest on Tuesday. Protests were also taking place in Nis and Novi Sad. Due to the protests in Belgrade, the streets from Takovska to the National Assembly, Nikole Pasica Square and Terazije at the turn towards the National Assembly were closed. Police forces were in front of the building of the Presidency of Serbia, the National Assembly and the RTS building. N1 TV reports that the police threw tear gas in front of the National Assembly of Serbia, and that one torch thrown by the protesters fell among the police officers. The protesters then ran towards Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra and Nikole Pasica Square. The police were grouped on the steps of the assembly. While the protesters were running towards Pioneers Park, the police were throwing tear gas. As nova.rs reports, a large number of citizens gathered in front of the National Assembly. Leader of the PSG, Sergej Trifunovic was also attacked in front of the Assembly. The young men poured water on him and threw cans of beer at him. Trifunovic was injured on that occasion and left with an injured brow ridge. The protest of the citizens caused by the announcement of the introduction of curfew, as well as the events in Belgrade, started at Trg Slobode in Novi Sad. Protesters were smashing glass on the windows of the City Hall with stones and firecrackers, and then set part of it on fire. Firefighters went to the scene. During the gathering, glass was broken on the door of Radio Televizija Vojvodine. Some of the citizens stayed in front of RTV, while the others went to the City Hall, and along the way they threw stones at the SNS premises and broke the glass.
