A hospital for those infected with COVID-19 is under construction, to be finished by April 21st
The reconstruction of existing and construction of a part of the facility that will be a new hospital for patients with COVID-19, with a capacity of 70 beds, has commenced in the centre of the Karaburma Military Medical Centre in Belgrade. Bearing in mind its purpose and the urgency of construction, the workers will carry out work in three shifts, 24 hours a day, in order to complete the facility by April 21st. The complete reconstruction of this facility and construction of a new part of the facility is donation of the company “Termomont” and its partners. The owner and director of the company “Termomont”, Dejan Burcul pointed out that in accordance with needs of the Ministry of Defence, that company, with its partners, decided to completely reconstruct and upgrade a new part of the hospital facility within the Karaburma Military Medical Centre, in form of donations. “This is a reconstruction of the 1,000-square-meter facility and an extension of more than 300 square metres, where a new access road or around 200 meters long will be built as well,” Burchul said, adding that due to short deadlines this is far from an easy task. The director of the Karaburma Military Medical Centre, Lieutenant Colonel Milan Mladenovic pointed out that the facility is currently undergoing reconstruction for new accommodation, in order to treat patients with COVID-19. “It is planned that the facility will be able to care for around 70 coronavirus patients, whose clinical picture is mild and moderate,” Lieutenant Colonel Mladenovic said. According to him, work on that hospital facility is ongoing and as soon as they are completed it will be equipped with medical equipment and necessary means of work, after which admission of first patients is planned.
