A million and a half tourists have visited Serbia until July
In the first half of the year 1,567,728 tourists visited Serbia, which is nine percent more when compared to the same period last year, the Tourist Organization of Serbia has announced today.
According to data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, out of that number 847,782 were domestic tourists, which is nine percent more, and 719,946 were foreign, which represents an increase of 14 percent.
A total of 4,288,620 overnight stays were realized from January to June, which is 13 percent more when compared to the same period of 2017. Out of that number domestic tourists made 2.7 million overnight stays, while foreign tourists accounted for 1.6 million overnight stays.
As for the choice of tourist attractions, measured by the number of overnight stays that were realized, domestic tourists spent most time on the Zlatibor Mountain in period from January to June 2018, followed by Kopaonik, Vrnjacka Banja, Sokobanja and Belgrade.
As for foreign visitors, the largest number of overnight stays was realized by tourists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by tourists from Montenegro, Romania, Turkey, Croatia and Bulgaria.
