A new Decent Work Program of Serbia

Minister of Labour Zoran Djordjevic and the representatives of the International Labour Organization and the representative organizations of employees and employers in Serbia, have signed the Decent Work Program for the period 2019 to 2022, which is aimed at achieving the highest work-related and social security standards.

Djordjevic told reporters that the new Decent Work Program was aimed at improving the position of workers in Serbia.

„It refers to the possibilities for peaceful resolution of labour disputes, minimum wage, regulation of various procedures, that is, everything that has already been signed by some countries, and Serbia is now joining them,“ he said.

The Minister pointed out that the Decent Work Program was very important for employees and employers in Serbia.

„The fact that a certain number of workers in Serbia are employed under temporary employment contracts is a relic of the past. Today, the state is moving forward, and the Ministry of Labour is trying to resolve it,“ Djordjevic said.
