Agreement reached: Minimum wage is higher by RSD 2,000, non-taxable part is increased

After the session of the Social-Economic Council, chairman Zoran Stojiljkovic said that the new minimum wage would be RSD 32,156, which is a 6.6% increase.

He added that there was no consensus.

From January 1, 2021, minimum wage will be RSD 2,000 higher than this year. Accordingly, the minimum hourly labour cost will be increased from RSD 172.5 to RSD 183.9, said the Minister of Finance, Sinisa Mali.

He also announced that the Government of Serbia would adopt a decision at tomorrow’s session that the non-taxable part of the salary would be increased from RSD 16,300 to 18,300, as of January 1.

„That is the amount of about RSD 8 billion that the state is taking over,“ Mali pointed out.

The minister also said that from January 1, pensions would be increased by 5.9 percent based on the Swiss formula.
