Apartments primarily for the law enforcement officers and those for hero doctors will be built eventually
The Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Zoran Djordjevic, said that the plan is to build apartments for doctors, medical personnel and young married couples at the same prices as for law enforcement officers.
„That will contribute to encouraging young people to stay in their home country and build families there,“ Djordjevic said during a tour of apartments in Vranje for employees of the law enforcement agencies.
He reminded that those apartments are intended for employees in the army, police, soldiers, war-disabled combatants and family members of fallen soldiers.
The Minister of Construction, Zorana Mihajlovic, visited newly built apartments for members of the law enforcement agencies in Vranje with the Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic, and on that occasion said that 186 apartments had been completed in that town so far and that 7,950 apartments in seven towns in Serbia would be completed by the end of 2022.
„In addition to the first buildings with 186 apartments in Vranje, it is even more important to note that Serbian government invests EUR 290 million in the construction of 7,950 apartments, of which 5,500 are being built today. All 7,950 will be ready in two years. By doing that we do not only secure home for members of law enforcement agencies, but we also aid our construction companies that execute work on almost all housing construction sites,“ she said.
Ana Brnabic said that the project of building apartments for members of the law enforcement agencies, initiated by the President Aleksandar Vucic, has a wider effect on society.
„We have secured work for our construction sector and enterprises. Domestic enterprises work on almost all housing construction sites and at least 80 percent of the materials are from Serbia. We have also managed to revitalize parts of the town that were neglected, thus local self-governments budgets are bigger. We have also boosted the development of catering and other branches of the economy,“ said the Prime Minister.
She expressed gratitude to all members of the law enforcement agencies and their families for their sacrifice in order to keep citizens safe.
