Arabs caused downfall of the PEARL of SERBIAN tourism: Hotels closed, no guests

Tourists arriving at Vlasina Lake this summer have trouble finding accommodation, because hotels bought by Qatari businessman have been closed. Four hotels in the territory of Vlasina, Surdulica and Crna Trava were purchased three years ago by Ali Abdula al Maki from Qatar. However, in the midst of the tourist season they have no employees. That is why there are no guests as well. As reporters of Prva TV station report, only two guests are sitting in the garden of Jezero Hotel on Vlasina. Hotel is closed and one waiter serves only drinks and coffee. „The kitchen does not work, we do not rent rooms. Only I come to work and make a coffee of two,“ waiter Dragan Stojanovic says. All that remains for disappointed locals and tourists is to enjoy the natural beauty. State sold Vlasina’s hotels in Crna Trava and Surdulica for one million euros. The owner additionally invested around half a million euros in three years, but then stopped working without notice.
