Belgrade: Additional RELIEFS to caterers due to the coronavirus

The Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic stated that the City of Belgrade will help caterers to overcome problems they found themselves in due to the coronavirus. „Catering and hospitality services represent branch of the economy in Belgrade that endangered the most, due to the lifestyle change caused by the coronavirus. That is why the City of Belgrade will do everything in its jurisdiction to help restaurants and cafes survive this period as easy as possible,“ Vesic said and „Beoinfo“ reports. He pointed out that the initial measure of the City for July and August will be to reduce the rental price by 50 percent for caterers whose bars are located in facilities owned by the City of Belgrade. „The second measure refers only to the Municipality of Vracar. It is the only city municipality on which territory it is forbidden to place a garden in parking lots. This was done last year at the suggestion of citizens. That is why a large number of restaurants in Vracar are without gardens. According to the decision of the Crisis Staff, restaurants and cafes on the territory of the City of Belgrade are allowed to work until 9 pm, and gardens until 11 pm, thus restaurants and cafes in Vracar found themselves in a difficult position. Therefore I will propose suspension of the decision on garden ban for cafes and restaurants in Vracar by the end of the year at the session of the City Assembly. This means that caterers from Vracar will be able to have gardens as of August 1st,“ Vesic concluded.
