Belgrade as the second best tourist destination in the world
At the recently held competition „Best of Tourism“, organized by the famous brand „Uzakrota“, Belgrade was in second place in the category for the best tourist destination, the Tourist Organization of Belgrade announced.
The Turkish city of Izmir received the most votes in that category, while New York came in third, after Belgrade.
„The fact that Belgrade, according to the choice of those who voted on the ‘Uzakrota’ portal, is in the second place in the category of the world’s leading cities – tourist destinations, just behind Izmir in Turkey, but ahead of New York, shows that in terms of our region or even broader, in Europe, „Belgrade has a great reputation and importance as one of the leaders for the so-called short city vacation,“ the Director of the Belgrade Tourist Organization, Miodrag Popovic said.
He added that Belgrade and Serbia have shown seriousness and readiness to respect measures in times of global crisis caused by the pandemic, as well as the current process of immunization of the population, which instils confidence in potential guests from the country.
„Our promotional activities have led to the fact that enough is known about it, but also to portray Belgrade as a dynamic and attractive city with attractions, facilities and ambient units that it can offer even in the time of the coronavirus,“ said Popovic in his statement.
