Belgrade gets 150 MORE COMMUNITY SUPPORT OFFICERS, they will have stations in all municipalities

The city of Belgrade has received a permit to employ 150 more community support officers.

The competition for admission will be announced in the upcoming weeks, and new members of the community police will start working at the beginning of next year, because after the admission they will undergo training in the Ministry of the Interior.

The City of Belgrade currently has 319 community support officers, and after the additional 150 of them are employed, their number will reach 469.

„When we receive new members of the community police, the City of Belgrade will, for the first time since this service exists, have community police stations in all the suburban municipalities of our city,“ says Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic.

For the first time, the citizens of Sopot, Lazarevac or Obrenovac will have community support officers who will protect them from communal disorder and those who behave disorderly. A station of the community police will also be opened in the quarters on the left bank of the Danube, as well as parts of Zemun that do not belong to the very centre of this municipality, he says.

„The community police protects the communal order in our city and the citizens from disorderly behaviour,“ says Vesic.
