BIZLife „30 under 30“: Damjan Cvijanovic, Head of Betting Management Department, „Mozzart“
After finishing the Technical High School „Mileta Nikolic“, „Computers“ profile, in the second year of his faculty studies Damjan started working at „Mozzart“ as a betting operator, where he acquired his first knowledge in the field of converting probabilities into coefficients and got to know the ways the company works. Following graduation, three years later, as a bachelor in computer science and e-business he worked on data entry and processing, after which he became a bookmaker and dealt with payment control and quota development. Today Damjan is the head of the betting management department and in that position has participated in new game projects, software implementation and improvement of betting control and betting management. Is there anything you had to renounce in order to get to where you are now? When you do what you love, even giving up your free time can hardly be a sacrifice, as in my profession I combine my hobby and work, and everything I have done and learned in order to move forward I never perceived as a sacrifice, but rather as a pleasure. Did success reach you, or was it the other way round? We met each other halfway, as there is no success without a set of lucky circumstances, effort and work. What is the most important lesson you have learned in your work so far? That there is not a single factor that is more guaranteed to achieve results than love for what you do. What is the ultimate goal? I don’t think it’s good to have an ultimate goal, because as soon as you complete one, you already have another, and that is how it should be. And my next goal, on which my team and I work every day, is to push boundaries of our work even further than we did last time. Favourite school subject? Mathematics. First job? Acceptance and handover of fresh and frozen fruits, as a seasonal job during school days. Business role model? All the people who have achieved exceptional results in their fields with dedicated work. Motivational song? Cannot name one song, as I like music that does not distract me.
