BIZLife “30 under 30”: Lenka Beric, Brand Marketing Coordinator, “Apatinska pivara”
Lenka earned her Master Manager degree at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, and at the very beginning of her undergraduate studies she gained her first work experience in marketing department of the company “Red Bull”, where she worked on projects such as the “King of the rock” tournament, the “Air race” and many other campaigns aimed towards students or employees. She says her decision to start working so early was the best decision she made in her life, as that had a major influence in development of her personality. Upon completion of undergraduate studies, which she did in Novi Sad, the town she is from, she comes to Belgrade to enrol in master studies, and there she begins working at the company “Nectar”, also in marketing department. After that she goes to “Apatinska pivara” to work on one of the largest Serbian brands, Jelen beer. Is there anything you had to renounce in order to get to where you are now? I didn’t want to give up anything, so I had to learn how to organize my time without sacrifices. I started having business responsibilities very early, and my parents had a condition that, if I wanted to keep my job, the faculty must not suffer. Thus, I had no choice, I had to organize myself well and I succeeded, without any sacrifices. Did success reach you, or was it the other way round? We probably met somewhere along the way. I’ve never been burdened with that. All I knew was that if I was doing something, I would either give 200% of myself, or I wouldn’t do it at all. I probably went towards success that way, and then it had to go for me, there was no way out. J What is the most important lesson you have learned in your work so far? It is so important to believe in what you do, stay consistent and maximally dedicated. If that is the approach, the result must come. What is the ultimate goal? Doing a job that fulfils you and makes you feel satisfied and happy, and on the other hand creating a balance so that family, friends and the time you use only for yourself do not suffer, regardless of the amount of work. Favourite school subject? Music education. First job? Employment at “Red Bull”. Business role model? I do not have a specific person who is my business role model, but during my work experience I have learned a lot from the people I worked with. One can say that I found something in each and every one of those people that I applied in my work. Motivational song? “Sredinom” by Dino Merlin.
