BIZLife “30 under 30 list”: Anja Jekic, Junior Brand Manager, „Nectar“

While studying at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, she worked within the Red Bull Serbia team. After five years spent in a large global company, she arrived in Belgrade in 2016, where he started working in the domestic company „Nectar“, where she developed business-wise and changed various positions during four years of work. In this company she received an opportunity to expand her knowledge and work in a well-rounded process – from the development of the product itself, all the way to its market placing. She is currently at the position of Junior Brand Manager for brands such as Booster, as well as Fructal, which has been a part of the Nectar family since 2011. She says that working on brands of different categories and market positions gives her the needed motivation in everyday learning and business. Her motto is the motto of the Booster brand: „More brands, more energy, more fun!“

Why did you decide to stay in Serbia?

Since I am an optimist by nature, I believe that – with as little outflow of young, educated and successful people from our country as possible – together we can contribute to the entire society. It’s all up to us and how we look at things, regardless of what we do. Message for all young people in Serbia: Stay and move! And bear in mind: It does matter!

What did you want to be when you were little?

Pilot 😊, but when I realized over time that it wasn’t the most realistic option, my desire was to do what I love and what will fulfil me at a given moment. That’s exactly what I’m doing right now.

    Favourite school subject?

Mathematics – there is always a clear process, and the result can be checked. That approach, it turns out, helped me a lot in my line of work.

    Business role model?

The person who inspires me in business is Byron Sharp – a man who changed the interpretation of modern marketing and the approach of running large companies with the goal of significantly improving marketing results. No matter what area of marketing you are dealing with, I highly recommend the book „How Brands Grow“.
