The President of the Association of Raspberry and Blackberry Producers of Serbia, Dobrivoje Radovic has said that blackberries in Valjevo were bought for RSD 80 to RSD 100 a kilogram until yesterday, and this morning the price in the entire country has suddenly decreased to RSD 35, thus there is reasonable doubt in a monopoly agreement among purchasers. „The price of blackberries has fallen overnight because owners of cold storage facilities have agreed to rob peasants who have been constantly calling me since this morning, as they do not know what to do in all their desperation,“ Radovic has said for the Beta agency. Radovic has invited „juridical state institutions and President Aleksandar Vucic, to finally engage in solution to the problem of law redemption price of raspberries and blueberries, which allows astronomic profit to owners of cold storage facilities and which can be seen by their personal wealth,“ Radovic has said. „I invite all blackberry producers who have been calling me from all over Serbia this morning and complaining about the sudden price decrease not to pick and sell blackberries for seven days, and if price does not increase we will block the entire Serbia,“ Radovic has said, adding that „this is a final warning to state that is silent about the matter.“ He has said that blackberries were purchased at the price of RSD 35 to RSD 40 a kilogram last year, yet they were exported and sold at the price of RSD 180 to RSD 250, and nothing was left in stock.
