Brnabic: Payments via Alipay in a few months in Serbia

Serbian PM Ana Brnabic has said in Hangzhou, after a visit to the Alibaba company, that she hopes that payments through Alipay will be possible in Serbia in the next few months. Ana Brnabic explained that this was an online payment platform with almost one billion users, created by the Alibaba Group, it is posted on the Government’s website. She said she hoped that conditions would be created for such a payment system in the next few months, adding that it would also be important for an increasing number of Chinese tourists visiting Serbia. „Talks on the introduction of Alipay, led by the Serbian Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, involving a commercial bank, are making good progress and I expect them to be finalized soon,“ the PM added. According to her, the next step would be a logistic centre, and the intention is to continue discussions with Alibaba and other companies about opening their development centres in Serbia.
