„Children are not a priority for vaccination, THIRD DOSE will be necessary“

Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Serbia, Marijan Ivanusa, has said that the most important thing is for parents to know that the vaccination of children against the coronavirus will not be recommended with the vaccines that have not passed clinical testing in children.

„Vaccines that will be used in children will be proven to be effective and safe. For now, I think that this only refers to Pfizer, but clinical studies are being done for other vaccines as well,“ Ivanusa said for Radio-televizija Srbije.

Director of the WHO in Serbia has said that the organization does not recommend vaccination of children for now, but only because there are other priority groups.

„We know that there are many countries in the world that do not have enough vaccines for adults, for the elderly, for people with chronic diseases that are a risk factor for a serious course of the disease,“ Ivanusa pointed out.

He says that children are not a priority group at the moment, but if there are vaccines, they can also be vaccinated.

„If they are children with some chronic diseases, those children have priority. Namely, healthy children can also be vaccinated, of course,“ said Ivanusa.

When asked whether the third dose of the vaccine will be necessary, Ivanusa says that he believes that the moment will come when the third dose will be necessary, but that the WHO does not have an exact answer when and for whom.
