Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic has said in the talks with the management of the US company Bechtel, which will build the Morava Corridor, that the works should start in the summer. „The construction of the Morava Corridor is the project number 1 for the Ministry, as it is important not only because of the construction of the highway from Cacak to Pojate, but also due to the most modern telecommunication infrastructure that will be built,“ Mihajlovic said. She pointed out that the Morava Corridor and the connection of Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 were strategically important for the development of Serbia and for 500,000 people living in that part of central Serbia. „We are speedily preparing for the construction, and our goal is for the works to start during the summer, which is why it is important to conclude a commercial agreement as soon as possible,“ Mihajlovic said. Stuart Jones, Bechtel’s President in charge of Europe and the Middle East, said he expected rapid progress in the implementation of the project on the construction of the Morava Corridor.
