The issue of the Grdelica Gorge is completely resolved, the southern branch of Corridor 10 towards North Macedonia and Greece is completed, said Minister Zorana Mihajlovic.
She added that depending on the weather conditions in the next ten days Corridor 10 would be ceremonially opened for traffic and that now a trip from Nis to Thessaloniki would take three hours, and from Vranje to Thessaloniki two hours, Tanjug reports.
On the occasion of the grand opening, a big ceremony is announced to which all the partners working on the Corridor will be invited, as well as the representatives of the countries in the region that are important for Corridor 10.
“The issue of the Grdelica Gorge is completely resolved, it is done. I am proud of all the workers who worked on that section, which is 26.3 kilometres long. On this section, there are 33 bridges, including the highest bridge Vrla, 68-meter high, and two longest tunnels, Manojla and Predejane. Driving through the Grdelica Gorge will take 20 to 25 minutes,” said Mihajlovic.
