Gorenje Home has successfully concluded negotiations with the German company Emotion, a long-term buyer of sanitary devices from the Zajecar-based factory, which will start its own production in June in the plants of this factory. Based on the signed contract, Emotion will rent commercial space covering about 7,000 m2 in Zajecar and continue to produce sanitary devices that were part of the factory’s portfolio in the previous period. 80 workers will be employed in the plants of the newly established company Emotion Home Serbia. “It is very important for us that we have successfully and timely completed the negotiations on the lease of part of the capacities, so that there will be practically no interruptions in production.” Emotion is a customer with which we have had a successful cooperation for many years, and we are certain that the company will find quality staff here,” Gorenje Home announced. It is added that Gorenje Home continues to “actively seek a solution for putting into operation the rest of the site covering about 10,000 m2”. Earlier this month, Gorenje’s management informed the public about the end of production operations in the Zajecar factory, which has been operating with significant losses for a long time, despite the investment of over EUR 10 million invested in it in the past nine years.
