Grill restaurants and barbecue stalls that want to make and sell Leskovac barbecue will have to have a certificate from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
Leskovac has officially become bearer of the mark that protects this brand, and so far 10 Leskovac based restaurants have received certificates.
Following years of work and effort, according to Director of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Jablanica and Pcinja District Goran Jovic, Leskovac has finally branded its famous barbecue specialties.
“We have finally came to the end of our most important projects, since barbecue specialties are one of the most important brands, not just of the Southern Serbia and Leskovac, but the entire region,” Jovic, says.
Those who want to receive certificate in order to sell Leskovac barbecue will have to undergo certain training, Jovic says, as well as to prepare specialties according to traditional recipe.
Next step is monitoring and control of the restaurants and those who sell our brand without certificate will be somehow sanctioned. Of course, everyone can apply and receive certificates following training, Jovic says.
