Ambassador of China to Belgrade, Li Manchang, has confirmed that a Chinese company has applied for a tender for the Mining and Smelting Complex Bor, announced by the Government of Serbia.
As a guest in the show Sedmica of Radio Beograd, Li said that, as far as he was aware, a dozen companies were interested in RTB Bor, including a Chinese company.
“Serbia has laws and regulations at the world level, and all Chinese companies in Serbia comply with the Serbian regulations, which also applies to the case of RTB Bor. We hope that Serbia will choose the right partner, which will do business successfully,” Manchang said.
The ambassador added that the current Chinese investments in Serbia were worth about three billion euros, but that economic cooperation was constantly improving. As examples, he mentioned the recently signed Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ikarbus factory.
He confirmed the invitation by Chinese President, Xi Jinping, to President Vucic to visit China in September and participate in the so-called “Summer Davos”.
