Rubber OPANAK made in Pirot goes to JAPAN

Following rubber boots made in Pirot, which will be worn by NATO soldiers all over the world, the other product of “Tigar” plant, opanak, found its way to Japan, where it will be exported. Representatives of several companies from Japan in which, according to plant officials, opanak made in Pirot is traditional footwear, paid a visit to this town, looking for new products, and they had special meetings with the Department of Development, in order to reach a possible redesign of the product. Director of “Tigar” Vladimir Ilic says that Asian market is extremely demanding, but guests showed interest as they recognized quality and functionality of the project, the “Juzne vesti” newspaper reports. Representatives of three companies from Nagoya visited Pirot, and motivation for possible redesign of Tigar’s opanak they found in pattern of the carpet. The export of rubber opanak was arranged for the Japanese market, and via that Asian country Pirot-made opanak will reach its buyers in the U.S., as well as in Taiwan, Vietnam and Korea.
