Serbian basketball player Nikola Jokic has agreed to sign a new contract with Denver Nuggets, according to which he will earn US$148 million in five seasons, making him the highest paid Serbian athlete.
According to ESPN, Nuggets have exercised the option to make Jokic a restricted free agent, and then offered him max contract that Jokic accepted on Sunday.
The whole process of signing a new contract began back in Tuesday, when Colorado based club submitted all the necessary documentation.
Jokic was Denver’s 41st pick in 2014 and a year later he put on the Nuggets jersey and became a star of this NBA team.
