A Member of Parliament and President of the Movement for the Renewal of the Kingdom of Serbia, Zika Gojkovic announced that he had paid half of his salary to the Serbian budget, inviting all his colleagues and politicians to do the same. The idea is for this campaign to financially aid state in the procurement of medical equipment for patients with the coronavirus, to increase doctors’ salaries and to repair the damage suffered by entrepreneurs and the economy due to the pandemic. “Now is the time for unity, for solidarity and renunciation, for the sake of those who need help the most. Now is the time to help one another, but state as well, so that it does not fall to its knees. It’s time to give as much as we can, but also not to take from state what we don’t have to, “Gojkovic said on his Facebook profile. His idea is that all MPs, ministers, the prime minister, the president, state officials, party leaders and anyone who wants to leave half of their salaries in state budget for those who need it the most and while the curfew is in place. “I send a public challenge to all politicians from the Government and the opposition,” the President of POKS, Zika Gojkovic emphasized.
