BIZLife list “30 under 30”: Sebastijan Stoja, science


Sebastijan Stoja is a Product Manager at the company Schneider Electric DMS (SEDMS) in Novi Sad, assistant professor and doctoral student at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, but also a professional table tennis player. He is currently enrolled in doctoral studies in field of energy economics, electrical engineering and telecommunications, at the stage of defending his doctoral thesis. As an outstanding student, he commenced his career in SEDMS, initially as a scholar when he was 22 years old, and after earning his master’s degree he officially commenced work as a software engineer. In just three years he reached the position of Product Owner. As of this year Sebastijan has been promoted to Product Manager in SEDMS and is in charge of Switching Management and Software as a Service (SaaS). Since 2016 Sebastian has also been hired as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad, in the Cloud Computing course. At age seven he began to train table tennis and has won many medals and awards so far. He was repeatedly Serbia’s second best player in team competition and in doubles competition. Besides that, he won medals at tournaments in the U.S., Romania, Hungary, etc. He also played for Serbia’s Under-16 and Under-18 national team at several international competitions, and when he decided that science and technologies would be his occupation he has been competing in Serbia’s Second Division.
