Faculty of Civil Engineering about METRO: Effects are NEGLIGIBLE, yet costs are ENORMOUS
The Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Belgrade has submitted, as a part of the public review, objections to the Draft Plan for General Regulation of Rail Systems in Belgrade with elements of detailed elaboration.
„The faculty points out that the proposed plan is not good, that the effects of the construction of the metro will have a negligible effect on the reduction of traffic problems, while the costs will be enormous,“ says the press release of the faculty, published on Twitter.
They pointed out that the Academic Honour Code makes it mandatory for them to contribute with their professional opinion to the making of technically correct decisions, which have far-reaching consequences for the wider social community.
