FIAT will WORK in September, on NINE DAYS

Following a traditional three-week collective annual leave, vehicle production continued in all plants of the Fiat Chrysler Automobile Group (FCA) on Tuesday, except in Kragujevac and Turin. Turin employees are on a one-year paid leave, due to preparation of the Mirafiori plant for the production of an electric vehicle, which should commence at the beginning of the following year. Workers at Fiat’s plant in Kragujevac, which has not been operating since mid-July, are due to return to work on September 3rd. The collective annual leave has also been completed at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia, and employees of that plant are on a new paid leave as of Tuesday, during which they receive 65 percent of their regular salary, and which, according to information provided earlier by the plant management, should last up until September 3rd. The Serbian government approved a request by the management of FCA Serbia in June, according to which employees of that company can have additional 87 days of paid leave, in addition to legally allowed 45, due to continuous decrease in sales of „500L“ model on global markets. As the „Danas“ daily reports, there will be nine working days in September, during which around 4,000 new vehicles will leave the production and assembly lines.
