From 1 January, PENSIONS under the „Swiss model“?

The Government of Serbia has adopted the Bill amending the Pension and Disability Insurance Act and it submitted it to the National Assembly for adoption. The government’s press release says that, under the „Swiss model“, as of 1 January 2020, pensions will be adjusted „by the percentage that represents the sum of half of the percentage of the increase in consumer prices and half of the percentage of the increase in salaries excluding taxes and contributions.“ Pensions will be adjusted based on the data obtained from the „authority responsible for statistics“ regarding the fluctuation of average earnings and fluctuation of consumer prices over the previous 12 months, starting from June of the previous calendar year.
