Geox’ workers in front of the factory: If you knew about this, WHY HAVEN’T YOU DONE ANYTHING?

Dozens of now former workers of the Geox company organized a protest at the entrance to the factory, demanding severance pay and a conversation with liquidation manager Milos Stosic.

On the previous day, Stosic signed a notification for the employees that the company was shutting down, which was waiting for them at the front desk and on the notice board on the first day after they returned from collective holiday. As the portal Juzne vesti reports, the workers will also organize a protest on Wednesday.

The workers gathered at 7 o’clock, the day after the official notification of the company that the company was going into liquidation due to the reduction of production below the profitability limits.

According to one of the former workers for Juzne vesti, the reason for the gathering is the payment of severance pay and revolt because in the weeks of uncertainty when it was speculated that the factory was leaving the town, none of the superiors informed them about that.

„We wanted to talk to the liquidation manager, but the security workers told us to write down all the remarks and leave them at the help desk,“ says one of the former workers.

„Vucic now promises that a job will be found for us, and what should I do until he comes to Vranje on September 15, should I starve?,“ says one of the gathered workers, while another comments that „it is not decent“ that no one from the management wants to come down „to at least apologize“.

„If he really knew about this for two months, why hasn’t he done anything so far? But the elections are near, it is all clear,“ adds one of the workers.
