Government PROMISES e-vehicle subsidies, a million trees …

The Serbian government will provide conditions for subsidized purchase of electric and hybrid vehicles by the end of February, while the plan is for Belgrade to expel diesel-powered vehicles from public transport in seven years. The task force for Air Protection in Serbia has proposed a series of measures, including the construction of a noise barrier covered in moss, a reduction in property taxes for citizens living in energy-efficient buildings, and the installation of three more electric vehicle chargers. According to plans, in seven years, Belgrade will no longer have a single diesel-powered bus in public transport, because during that period they should all be replaced by electric or hybrid buses, it was stated at a meeting of the task force chaired by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic. With regard to passenger cars, the Government of Serbia will provide conditions for subsidized purchase of electric and hybrid vehicles by the end of February. There are also plans to build another noise barrier covered in moss, in addition to the existing two, in the area from Studentski grad to the Sava Center. The reduction in property tax is considered for citizens living in energy efficient buildings and the reduction of contributions for those planning to build such buildings. It was concluded at the meeting that Belgrade is expected to be the leader among other Serbian cities in this field.
