Grim day in Serbia: Seven deceased, additional 284 infected
In the last 24 hours, another seven people died from consequences of the coronavirus in Serbia, while another 284 newly infected with COVID-19 virus were registered. A total of 1,908 confirmed COVID-19 cases were registered in the Republic of Serbia by 3 pm on April 5th, 2020. From the last report until 3pm, samples of 959 individuals were tested, of which 284 tested positive. A total of 1082 patients have been hospitalized and 88 patients are on the Fair. There are a total of 98 patients on the respirator. A total of 7,360 people who met the criteria of the case definition were tested in Serbia. Since last report was published seven more patients died from the effects of the virus, i.e. a total of 51. Five were male and two were female. Two patients passed away at the Vojvodina Clinical Centre, which announced this earlier. The average of their years is 64.2 and they all had comorbidities, that is, several other associated diseases that contributed to the adverse outcome. According to epidemiologist Doctor Predrag Kon, the death rate in relation to the number of infected is 2.67 percent.
