„If it is expensive for you on Kopaonik and Zlatibor, do not go there“

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has said that in three months, the question will not be how the country will fight with the coronavirus, but what will be done with the economy.

And that is why I do not understand the hysteria about the bills from the restaurants on Zlatibor and Kopaonik. If it is expensive for you and you do not want to pay that much, do not go there. Let hospitality and tourism workers work and make money,“ said Vucic in Lacarak.

As he added, those same people who complain have no problem paying ten times more abroad for the same service.

„When we pay ten times more abroad, we have no problem with that, and whenever we have to pay for something in our country, then it is always too expensive. And when we come to farmers to ask them about the price of cattle per weight, then it is always too cheap. We are never fair to look at both sides,“ he concluded.

Answering the question about the big crowds for the holidays in the mountain centres in Serbia, Vucic said that no one could forbid people to go to those places and that there were many people who did not believe that the coronavirus existed.

„And until they are personally convinced, they will not believe it. And on the other hand, those hospitality and tourism workers have to earn something. Because in three months, the key question will be what we will do with the economy,“ he said.

Vucic reiterated that Serbia had enough vaccines for seasonal flu and called on all those interested to get vaccinated, and he also stated that Serbia was ready to help countries in the region in that regard, if there was need.
