Ivana Spanovic defended the European gold

Ivana Spanovic won a gold medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championship in Glasgow, having jumped 6.99 metres. This is Ivana’s third consecutive title in indoor championships. She jumped the winning jump in the fifth series.

Ivana Spanovic achieved the record of legendary Heike Drechsler with the third title of the champion of Europe in a row, after previously being the best in Prague and Belgrade.

Ivana managed to defend the title at the European Athletics Indoor Championship, while the second place went to Belarusian Nastassia Mironchyk-Ivanova who jumped 6.93 metres, while the third was Ukrainian Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk – 6.84 metres.

In the first series, Ivana jumped 6.90 m, however, the Belarusian jumped 6.93 metres in the same series. There were several series in which the order was not changed, except that the Ukrainian managed to win the third place.

In the fifth series, with a fantastic 6.99-metre jump Ivana won the first place.

There was no change in the last series so our athlete decided to skip this jump.
