JAPANESE GIANT arrives in Serbia, investment worth USD 2 billion

Nidec, the leading Japanese company for electric motors, with a turnover of EUR 12 billion, whose arrival was announced by the mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vučevic, has already opened a company in Serbia, NS reports live.

It is added that representatives of the Japanese company are coming to Novi Sad on Tuesday to look at the space for business offices and cabinets. According to information obtained by the local web portal, the city delegation will show them several business premises that could meet the needs of a Japanese giant.

According to the available data, the company is already registered in the SBRA, in Vojvode Bojovica Boulevard in the Belgrade Municipality Stari Grad. Two legal entities Nidec elesys Europe d.o.o. and Nidec Electric Motor Europe d.o.o. are registered. The founder of both Serbian companies is the corporation Nidec Europe BV, headquartered in the Netherlands.

The arrival of the Japanese will represent an economic boom for Novi Sad. It is a company worth EUR 700 million, with an annual turnover of around EUR 12.2 billion. Worldwide, Nidec employs around 117,000 people in production of electric motors for the automotive industry, robotics, computer and video equipment and home appliances.

Several well-known economic magazines have claimed that the Japanese giant will invest USD 1.9 billion in Novi Sad in stages.

„The facility in Serbia will become one of the largest production centres of the Japanese company in Europe, which will reach an annual production of between 200,000 and 300,000 units by 2023,“ the Tokyo business journal Nikkei announced in November last year.
