Kon: We do not have a choice, lockdown for 10 to 14 days
We are in a situation where we no longer have a choice, the virus is so much all around us and it is impossible to stop it without drastic measures, claims epidemiologist and member of the Crisis Staff Predrag Kon.
„We have previously requested seven days of lockdown as an absolute minimum. Now the duration is increasing, so it is a minimum of 10 days, up to 14,“ Kon emphasized as a guest on Prva TV.
Kon said that the virus was all around us to such an extent that it was simply impossible to stop it without drastic measures. He added that it was clear that there would be illegal gatherings, but he believed that it would not take place to a large extent.
„Mass vaccination is the only way out, and there is still a small percentage of young people who have been vaccinated. It is very important for us to protect young people,“ says the epidemiologist.
„In this situation, we want both money and life, I understand that, but sometimes you are in a situation where you have no choice,“ says Kon.
He emphasized that now, when we had the vaccine, the combination of contact prevention and vaccination was the most effective.
