Matijevic to open hotel „Beograd Centar“ on May 15th

The hotel „Beograd Centar“ in Kolarceva Street in Belgrade, in the former „Jugoeksport“ building, should be opened on May 15th, Investment Director at the company „Industrija mesa Matijevic“, that owns the hotel, Bojan Matijevic has announced today.

He has stated with „Beta“ that the date of opening can only be postponed by reconstruction of the Republic Square and streets surrounding the hotel.

„Around 99 percent of works on renovation of „Jugoeksport“ building and transformation of that building into a hotel is over, we are only waiting to see if reconstruction of the surrounding streets will be completed, in order to secure access to the hotel,“ Matijevic has said.

The four-star hotel „Beograd Centar“ has five floors with 68 rooms, 20 apartments, a restaurant of around 300 square meters and 25 parking spaces in Simina Street, 150 meters away from the hotel.

As Matijevic has said, a spa and fitness centre with a conference hall will be built at one of the two underground floors next year.

„We are waiting for the completion of infrastructure replacement in surrounding streets, so that we can make a conference hall and other hotel facilities,“ Matijevic has said.

He has added that „the hotel would keep four stars, because even though it has most of the stipulated standards for a five-star hotel, it will not change the status as five stars deter guests.“
