Meggle MOVES from Croatia to Serbia and BiH

The German company Meggle has stirred up the public in Slavonija when it announced that it was closing the factory in Osijek and laying off 160 employees, after which it was announced that the production was moving to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. „They did not tell us that production was moving to Bihac and Kragujevac, but the reasons are very simple – a cheaper way of doing business and maybe a simpler way of functioning.“ We cannot order Meggle where to operate and produce, but we can put pressure in another way, by pointing out that Meggle is no longer a brand that it presents itself to be in Croatia, but a brand that will be produced somewhere other than in Osijek,“ the media were told by the head of the county, Ivan Anusic. On Thursday, the Meggle Croatia company stated that it was restructuring its business operation in Croatia and that it was shutting down production in Osijek by the end of the year, with about 160 workers being dismissed.
