Member of the Anti-Corruption Council: Everyone from the Government UNDER SUSPICION

In the most corrupt state in Europe, such as Serbia, there is a suspicion that everyone from the Government is systematically corrupt, a member of the Government’s Anti-Corruption Council, Jelisaveta Vasilic said. She assessed for the web portal Direktno.rs that there are no bodies for the fight against corruption in Serbia. „The Ministry of Justice, which was strategically appointed as the body for the fight against corruption, as well as the Anti-Corruption Agency, are not bodies that have shown interest in that battle,“ Jelisaveta Vasilic evaluated. She reminded that Aleksandar Vucic came to power in 2012 „with the promise that he would fight corruption“. „After eight years, Serbia has rightfully become the most corrupt country in Europe, which means that the president has not fought against corruption,“ Vasilic evaluated. She stated that the Anti-Corruption Council has submitted 40 reports on systemic corruption in the past eight years, but the Government has not reacted to any of those reports. „This Government, from the Prime Minister to the President, has never shown a desire to battle corruption,“ a member of the Anti-Corruption Council stated.
