Mobile roaming charges to be axed among countries of the region first
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has stated in Sofia that cancellation of mobile roaming charges for countries of the Western Balkans will be conducted in two stages, and first one will include cancellation of mobile roaming charges among countries of the region.
“Cancellation of mobile roaming charges will for sure be in two stages, as the first one will include cancellation of roaming within the region and the second one will include cancellation of roaming from the EU for the entire region,” Brnabic has said to journalists in Sofia, following her participation at the World Economic Forum.
She has said that at this moment “there is no timeline” regarding that particular process and it is in Serbia’s interest to reach agreement on mobile roaming charges with each country of the region as soon as possible.
She has added that at the World Economic Forum, held within summit of the EU and Western Balkans, they also discussed how that region can move faster towards the EU, and how digital agenda “can rapidly try to compensate economic lagging of countries of the Western Balkans behind countries of the EU.”
“The other great thing is infrastructure connectivity, and we have also discussed about road and railway connectivity,” Brnabic has stated.
