Most expensive house sold for EUR 4.5 million, most expensive apartment in Belgrade Waterfront

The most expensive real estate in Serbia sold last year was a house in Dedinje in Uzicka Street, for which the new owner paid EUR 4,500,000, according to the data of the Republic Geodetic Authority (RGZ). „This street, which has been considered a symbol of power, wealth and influence for decades, clearly still represents one of the most attractive locations in Belgrade,“ RGZ explains. In addition to Dedinje, the competent authorities state, Belgrade Waterfront has become a traditionally attractive location in Serbia since the beginning of its construction. The most expensive apartment in Serbia worth EUR 1,319,888 was sold at this location, and a square meter of that apartment was paid EUR 8,683. Even though new buildings offer advantages, prices are still high at the centre of the capital, they say, around Trg Republike and Knez Mihailova Street, thus, even though these are old buildings, an apartment at Obilicev venac was bought for over 6,000 euros per square meter, Tanjug reports, as cited by the Blic daily. When it comes to payment methods when buying apartments in Serbia, it is interesting that in about 70 percent of cases purchases are made in cash, while only 30 percent of buyers use loans. However, houses and apartments are not the only properties retaining high prices, as good agricultural land is also in great demand, in Serbia. The largest area of agricultural land, just over 559 hectares, was paid 4,800,000 euros, and it is located on the territory of the Novi Becej municipality.
