New Tanjug gets contract with Novi Sad worth RSD 2.4 million

The City of Novi Sad will pay almost 2.4 million dinars to the company Tacno based in Belgrade, which uses the property rights of former Tanjug, to make video reports on the activities of local authorities for a year.

According to the contract, which was signed after the tender, in which Tacno d.o.o. was the only bidder, it is stated that the deal is concluded for the „news video production“ service.

The tender documentation itself says that Novi Sad needs a bidder that will do journalistic reporting in the form of video reports on the activities of city authorities, i.e. recording, text processing and editing of video footage from certain events – on average from 15 to 20 events per month.

Furthermore, the contract between the City and the company Tacno provides for the distribution of news and video footage to TV stations and other electronic media, as well as taking over the material from the media through the bidder’s customer service and publication on the official website of the bidder, with archiving and storage of distribution video footage, as well as other production tasks, whose ultimate goal is delivering usable material to the media.

Tanjug ahead of Beta and FoNet

The law allows such business deals, but the tender documentation itself shows that the tender was made in such a way that the business deal could be won by Tanjug or maybe the news agencies Beta and FoNet, knowing that there are not many companies in Serbia that have 10 subscribers to the news service.

Among other conditions, the bidder must have a minimum of three journalists and two cameramen, employed or contracted, and it must own video equipment, at least three Full HD cameras.

According to the data on public procurements from previous years, the City of Novi Sad did not announce tenders for such works. However, it had contracts with Tanjug.
