One half of Serbian export and retail sales in hands of foreigners

According to data of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, three percent of companies in Serbia are under majority ownership of foreigners, and they are generating every fifth dinar of the additional value, while in Serbian export they participate with more than 50 percent.

Director of the Department for Analytics and Services at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Bojan Stanic explains for „Tanjug“ that foreign companies mostly occupy banking sector in Serbia, and their participation in the mining sector is growing.

Foreign companies in the Serbian retail market, with less than 50 percent of revenues, still occupy more than 55 percent of total area of all stores in our country.

According to data, the retail market in Serbia has been recording a growth in revenue in recent years, with domestic retailers and small shops dominating the market, as there is room for modernization, but also better conditions for the work of employees in small shops.
