Paid leave for 300 firearm manufacturers revoked, they are urgently called to work
The paid leave due to the coronavirus epidemic has been revoked for around 300 workers of the Zastava arms plant, who have been invited today to return to the production facilities, the Independent Trade Union of the plant stated for the Beta agency. The Union reports that these workers are primarily engaged in preparing conditions for continued production at the plant which employs around 2,500 workers. According to president of the Union, Dragan Ilic, there is a tendency for the number of plant workers to increase. He says that all the halls where the work is being conducted today have been supplied with hand and footwear disinfectants, as well as with protective masks and gloves. Ilic said he sees employee transportation as a problem since public transport is not working.
