Poor performance according to the Minister Zoran Djordjevic

Due to pressures and discrimination, several employees of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Affairs have announced that they will address the Government’s Personnel Commission, and at least two lawsuits have already arrived to the Administrative Court, the „Danas“ daily newspaper reports. The main reason for this is low grades of the quality of work that Minister Zoran Djordjevic personally evaluated across multiple departments, the worst being the department for family care and welfare which received grade two. It is absurd that such low grades were given following new systematization, completed based on the findings of the Hermes Training Research Centre, to which the Ministry paid RSD 4.5 million last year for a month-long work during which they determined psychological profiles and competencies of employees. Their findings initiated the merging of three departments in one, i.e. the family care and welfare department, reducing the number of personnel and bringing in new „staff“ with status of coordinators. Experienced workers were thus given far greater number of cases, thus some of them try to cope with 6,000 cases. The same people who had high grades in the earlier evaluation round will now not be able to obtain promotion and despite higher workloads, they are also facing lower salary. The Ministry stated for the „Danas“ daily newspaper that „they are constantly working to improve the position of workers and the conditions in which they work.“ They remind that workers’ rights are in that very ministry and they themselves are applying good practices.
