Prime Minister: Return to NORMAL life in July

The Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated that, with the continuation of the process of mass immunization against the coronavirus, the country could return to normal life in July.

She stated at the Prva TV station that around 2.6 million doses of vaccines have been given in Serbia so far, with around 1,473,000 citizens receiving the first dose and about 1,086,000 being revaccinated.

„Around 26 percent of the adult population received the first dose, and around 19 percent of adults were revaccinated. We have around 733,000 citizens or 14 percent of the adult population completely protected as they received the second dose more than three weeks ago, i.e. five weeks in case of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

She estimated that, thanks to immunization, there was a „slight“ drop in the number of newly infected people in Serbia. „Without such an immunization campaign, we would have more than 10,000 newly infected a day in this wave of epidemics,“ the prime minister said.

She announced that the plan is to vaccinate around 303,000 in the next seven days. „Tomorrow we will receive 106,470 doses of Pfizer vaccine, we have reached a bilateral agreement on that, and 500,000 Sinopharm vaccines should arrive on Monday as well,“ said Ana Brnabic.
