RSD25 million for IT education of women
The Serbian government adopted a Program for Empowerment of Women in the Field of Information and Communication Technologies for the period between 2019 and 2020.
The Government has secured RSD25.500.000 for 2019 and RSD22.000.000 for 2020, for training, education and retraining of women in this field, bearing in mind the estimate that IT sector has a space between fifty to one hundred thousand new jobs up to 2020.
The adopted program creates conditions for equal participation of women in the IT sector and for reduction of the gender gap, Government’s Media Relations Office has announced.
This program will encompass female pupils, students, employed women who are interested in retraining and members of an older generation who will be encouraged to use IT technology.
