SALARIES in the public sector are 100 euros HIGHER than in the private sector
Salaries of more than 600,000 employees in the public sector are exactly 100 euros higher than the salaries of those who work in privately-owned companies.
They amount to RSD 73,277, compared to RSD 61,529, which is an average salary in the private sector (data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia from May this year).
It is certainly the most difficult for those who work for entrepreneurs – their „average“ salary is RSD 33,358, which is almost half of the official average. There are also those who are paid even less, and who work illegally, in the informal sector.
Nevertheless, the president of Serbia recently announced that at the beginning of next year, there would be another increase in salaries in the public sector, and he is convinced that the private sector will follow along to a large extent.
The average salary in the public sector in Serbia in May this year was RSD 65,025, while according to the latest data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, half of the employees in Serbia earn a maximum of RSD 46,869. Half of them earn above that amount.
