„Serbia is not just a summer tourist destination, this season – 2 MILLION TOURISTS“

Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic has said that Serbia was visited by approximately two million tourists during the current tourist season, while in the best tourist season, in 2019, the number of tourists was between 3.5 and 3.7 million.

„We now have more than eight million overnight stays in Serbia, and in the best tourist season (2019) we had 10 million overnight stays,“ Matic told RTS TV.

According to her, Serbia is not a destination where the tourist season only lasts in the summer months.

„Serbia, especially major cities – Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, have highly developed congress tourism, the New Year’s Eve is approaching, as well as other holidays,“ Matic said.

She assessed that vaccination against the coronavirus was „a necessary condition for the continuation of normal economic life,“ including the tourism sector.
