    Serbia’s industrial STRATEGY adopted

The Government of Serbia has adopted the Industrial Policy Strategy of the Republic of Serbia from 2021 to 2030, which contains comprehensive reform steps in the field of industrial development. The goal of the strategy is to increase the competitiveness of the domestic industry, which will make a significant contribution to high sustainable economic growth, measured by the GDP growth rate and a better quality of life for citizens, the Serbian government said. The statement says that the implementation of the Strategy „will raise the technological level of the industry and its transformation in the direction of digitalization and automation, increase the contribution of research and innovation solutions, as well as the overall volume of investments in the industry while ensuring a balance in the structure and quality of investments.“ At the session, the Regulation was also adopted on establishing the Program for the use of the finances from the Budget Fund for financing activities and measures for the improvement and development of the field of electronic communications and information society in 2020. This regulation provides for the construction of broadband communication infrastructure in the so-called „white zones“, in order to provide state incentives to enable the internet connect of at least 600 schools, i.e. public institutions, local communities and other facilities of the national and local agencies and approximately 90,000 households. At the session, the Regulation on the Program for the Promotion and Popularization of Innovation and Innovation Entrepreneurship for 2020 was adopted.
